Can family members or friends share a membership?

“Membership” is defined as an individual or individual plus one immediate family member. “Shared Membership” is available for additional adult family member or other (over the age of 21, along with their immediate family member for a total of four members). Shared Memberships incur an additional $500 initiation fee and an additional $200 dues per month. All family members/others are considered ONE membership, meaning only one member may check out a boat at any given time (nationwide). The maximum number of additional members is (2) on a Shared Membership. “Corporate Memberships” are available, which allow up to (6) members.

What if I want to make a last minute, same day reservation?

When making a same-day reservation, a minimum of four (4) hours notice is required between a reservation and the actual time of boat usage. Such reservations are required to be called in and confirmed with a Boat Club representative and may NOT be made online.

How do I reserve a boat?

Reservations are scheduled using our online reservation system and may be made up to 45 days in advance of an outing date. Reservations are revolving. As soon as you use or cancel one reservation, you get another right back. In addition, you are not limited to the amount of times you may use a boat. For high demand holidays, we recommend that you book early. Otherwise, two weeks in advance is usually plenty of time.

What hours are the boats available?

A boat outing is defined as a partial day reservation period consisting of a minimum of 3 hours and a maximum of 8 hours depending on the season and marina.

Note: No boat may be reserved after the latest evening return time or overnight. We reserve the right to cancel reservations due to any just cause or inclement weather at any time.

How difficult is it to reserve a boat?

Not difficult at all! You can reserve a boat and various water toys up to forty-five (45) days in advance.

What are the contract terms?

The term of the contract is one-year (12 consecutive months from the date you enroll in the club). You are required to pay the initiation fee at the time of enrollment and pay the membership dues monthly based on your choice of membership. Contracts automatically renew unless written notice is provided 60-days prior to the termination date.

What if I have little to no experience in operating a boat?

No problem! We require and provide all boaters, experienced and inexperienced, boat safety training, including instruction on the water and recommend parts of the lake to visit. We will gladly stay with you until you are comfortable operating the various boats in the fleet.

What type of insurance is provided?

As a club member, you are covered under the club’s insurance policy. You may be liable for up to the $5,000 insurance deductible for non-negligent accidents.

Are there any hidden expenses?

Members are responsible for dues, fuel, and all damage repairs to boats and/or equipment.

Are pets allowed on the boats?

Pets are allowed on designated pet-friendly boats only.

My dad and I joined and share a membership. He used to own a boat and we were looking into buying one together. He really wanted a pontoon; I wanted a ski boat. With our membership, we can have both! Since I’m a teacher, the club really works great for me since I have more free time in the summer. The biggest advantage for us is the variety of boats as well as the great service. I have a friend who owns his own boat and he’d rather come out on the lake with us. It’s more convenient. We all really enjoy being members.

We went to the boat show and got sticker shock. Instead, we signed up with the club. The convenience sold us. We walk up, they toss us the keys and when we’re done, we toss them back and are on our way. The kids learned to ski and went tubing and when the water’s too cool, we take out a pontoon. We’re out there at least twice a week—which is more often than my friends who own their own boats. It’s great for entertaining, too, and a fun way to spend the summer.

Years ago, I owned a sailboat and a couple of ski boats. It’s a lot of work. I’d been looking for a good way to get back on the lake—either buying a boat or getting together with friends to own one together. But I learned from owning before, you’re either cleaning your boat or fixing it. With the boat club, you just email them your request and show up. They’re very particular about their boats. They clean them up. We just carry our bag of trash off. For us, it’s perfect. I’d give it double paddles up!

We joined after reading about the club in a chamber newsletter. We’ve never owned a boat and it’s nice to have access to boats without the maintenance, upkeep and expense. Boating allowed us to spend a lot of family time with our two children, ages two and eight. They loved it. We’ve been able to get a boat pretty much whenever we want it. The boats are very clean, and service has been great. The convenience is so nice.
